Last day for the year...

      It is the last day of enrich for this year!!!
                 and even the last day ever for some people.
                      This year I liked going on the perspective field trip.
                                      I don't so much like chess and must dos and picks.
              I found it interesting that Pippa liked eye dissection!

GUESS WHAT!!! Today I get to bring home my stone carved anchor!!! But the sad thing is... No more stone carving for the rest of the year :-( I will have to find something to do while the others do passion time or maybe I could just finish off my environment project. I am also excited because I'm just about to go dissect a pigs eye! Katie told me the eyes were waiting in the freezer to be broken up! Bye,bye see you next week.

Stone carving

Today I did Stone-Carving. Here is a photo of what it looks like so far. If you can't tell what it is it's an anchor. Those tools are the main ones I have been using. From left to right they are: sandpaper, file and a chisel.

Environment Project

Today at Enrich we did our environment project and I carried on with my environmental booklet.
I made a lot of progress.
I've almost completed my index and I have added in the pages I need!
I need to keep working on typing my facts and tips up.  Once that's done, I will nearly be finished!!!
I'm just about to go do some more.

My day at Enrich

Environment project

Today at Enrich we did our environment project. I did my environmental booklet. As I told you in an earlier post I was going to turn Uncle Sam into Uncle Tim. Here it is finished. I also fixed the layout so that means I have a lot of research, writing and planning to do. When I am finished the booklet I will publish many copies and send them to all the local schools.

Environment project

Today at Enrich I did my environment project. I am making a booklet about the environment.  At the front it will have a contents page.  On the contents page it will have a list of contacts for the local vets in Invercargill so that you can buy bells for your cat's collar as well as asking them about getting your cat fixed so it doesn't have babies.  It will have a couple of pages about native birds and trees and if you're thinking about planting trees in your garden, it will have a list of plants that you could choose from that will help attract native birds.  For my title page, I am going to use "Sam" - he normally says "Your country needs you!" but I am going to change it and have him say "Invercargill needs you."

Dino Scope

Today for my High Interest Station I did Biology and we used Dino Scopes.  We had to have 1 dead fly betwean 2 people.  Me and Izzy crushed the dead fly into bits.  Below are my 3 favourite photos.    The red and white is my dress.   The red and yellow is a koosh ball. The The flower is actually my earring.

 

Science

Today I did science with Jenni.  We made a light-bulb circuit.  Below is a link to a video of how to make it.

The aim was to light the bulb but...ours just went BANG and started to smoke!!!


Also we played chess, I played Izzie, but I lost.
Today we were talking about our whole group environment which is Seaward Bush.

Technology Challenge

Today we did a Technology Challenge, we had to make a shuttlecock launcher, below is a photo of my groups.  We still have to judge them, hopefully my group will win because if you win you get chocolate and Jenni will eat it.  We had cellotape , a plastic cup, skewer sticks, coloured ice-cream sticks, string, two straws and cardboard and tin foil.

First day back

It's the first day back to Enrich for term 3. Gosh, the year has gone fast!!!

Today I did science with Jenni, here are some photos. This experiment is called Elephant toothpaste. We used yeast, soap, hydrogen peroxide and food colouring.  The yeast made it rise and explode.  It was super fun.  Today we also learnt about environment.  Environment is term 3 and 4s concept curriculum.

Term Reflection

Today it is the last day of the term.  Man, the term  has gone fast.  Today we had to do all of the end of term stuff like, Key Competency and term reflection sheets.  Here is my term reflection, they are sentence starters.

Talent Devopment

Just then I finished my talent devapment canstruction.  Today we continued with a minion from despicable me.  Here is my minion doesn't it look good.What we were doing today was discovering what the best arms were like now this is what they look like.  We also figured out how many cans we are going to need, which is 381!!
Also we figured out that we are going to take a photo of someone's mouth and zoom it up close and stick it on the can as the mouth!

Lego animation

Hi, it's me Rhylee.  Today me, Kate and Pippa did a Lego animation instead  of wearable arts.  We didn't 
do wearable arts because we didn't have anything to do for it, next week I will have to remember to bring some chicken wire.  This is a similar set to what we used.  The main part of the animation was when the mans head got cut off!!!Now we are going to make it have a funeral,  then it will get carried out in the horse float.

Canstruction

Today I did Canstruction. I had to use Google Sketch Up - it was really hard! We had to draw cans with complicated tools to help make our map for our design of the Highlanders Rugby jersey. Alana kept on changing the height and that made it even harder! We had to put more and more and more and more and even more layers in. I was getting so frustrated, I had to get a drink of water. Canstruction today was really challenging but I'm really proud of what I did.

Passion time

Today we did passion time, we are actually meant to only do it every second week but today some reason 

we did it.It was fun because we carried on with our wearable arts but, first we did a Hokonui Fashion awards competition. It was a kids one and you just drew on the piece of paper and Alana is going to get some similar material.

Passion Project

Today it was the Thursday Enrich class's first time doing their passion project. My group is me, Pippa & Kate, we are doing Wearable-Arts and we are making a Pasta dress. Today we had to decide what we were going to make and, since I have to be the model I had to get measured basically everywhere. It was really fun and I'm looking forward to finishing.

Speed Stacks!

Today with Alana we played speed stacks. It was my first ever time doing them, they were really fun. My best time was 7.36sec. Alana taught us that it is easier to use both our hands at the same time at it was really true because I bet my time by two seconds then I bet my time by another two seconds.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich I did I-pad science.We did Bobo and Light and Science Hub. Bobo and light Light is basically light science and Science Hub is studies about earth e.g Fire.  Today we also played Pegasaurus.  There are two teams - a red peg team and a yellow peg team.  If you are in the red team you have to try and grab the yellow team's pegs.  If you grab the other teams peg it is worth 1 point, if you keep your own peg on your back it is worth 2 points.  My team won with 88 points!!

You are settling in so well at Enrich.  You are organising yourself to complete set tasks, and your confidence is growing.  It was great to see your enthusiasm for the I-photo editing workshop today - you tried a variety of techniques to enhance your photos.  You work well independently, and within a group, and you always try your very best.  Well done Rhylee!  Katie.

Prospective

On the 16th of February enrich went on a field trip for perspective.  First my group went to the art gallery and we saw some paintings.  Some were from different artist's perspectives.  Next my group went to the water tower.  We had to climb up it, and then we saw parts of Invercargill from a bird's eye view.  Then we had to climb down and be really careful and go down the stairs backwards.  Finally we went to the First Church.  The lady had a meeting in 10 minutes so we had to be quick! We went to the part where people have weddings and funerals. We went to through a door that was four kids long! We sat in the church and looked at the stained glass windows.  We wanted to go up the bell tower but the lady didn't have time.
